One battery?

I like the idea of more room, but I'd rather relocate them both...heck even relocate the fuel filter head. Think of all that space for turbo possibilities and intercooler piping.

I'd be willing to bet a large percentage of IDI trucks out there on the road that have two batteries under the hood, are actually running with just one battery. I've seen so many IDI's with bad battery cables and terminals, that it's amazing they start at all, and on many of those, when you disconnect one of the negatives to do some terminal cleaning, you see the power go out all together. Things that make you go hmmmm......

Guilty! I ran around most of last year with one battery. Finally re-soldered the terminal back together.
