Moose= more power, better balanced/even'd pop pressures vs. those "E" injectors

moose injectors also equal extremely pricey

OP have you priced a set of moose injectors? check on the price, most will not spend the coin on them

never heard of e injectors, most people use bb injectors, I have heard that besides g most codes are not different.

Your at the...well really the best resource for these engines. The cumulative knowledge here far exceeds to a very significant degree most if not all diesel shops in regards to this particular engine.

Members here eat breath sleep **** sweat and cry the Navistar IDI in Ford trucks.

The best stock injector (non modified) is a BB code injector, there really is no reason to get anything less.

If you are looking for performance, then yes Mel's Moose Misters would be a very worth while upgrade, they offer an incredibly fine mist in comparison to other injectors, their spray is just awesome indeed.

I looked for the video for ya but I cannot find it. I suggest contacting Mel via PM, or wait a lil longer he'll be around.

So it all comes down to what your wanting to do and for that, ask a few more questions, go back through the old threads, read em and see what you think. Search out Moose misters here and bb code injectors you'll begin to understand.

E codes where factory N/A injectors.(from like '92 - 94 or something.)
i put a set of BB codes in mine and what a difference! not in power though like many claim.but just because my E's where shot.:D
smoothed her right out and easier starts.i doubt i gained 5 hp honestly though.
very happy with 'em anyway.perhaps they don't "come alive" until the turbo instal.;)

Yeah well hes full of ****. but feel free to believe whatever, Ihave ran all the injector types, bb codes are the overall best.

And unless there is stock on someones shelves Delphi's are backordered everywhere, me MEl, pensacola, midwest, all no stock, so either get crappy remans or wait till feb/mar.

Exactly the point here the "guy" will tell you what ever he can to sell you his product. Be it inferior or not. He is going for the sale, nothing less than that!

One way to see how serious this fellow is and how skilled/knowledgable he may be is to ask how he times these engines? By ear? If so take your money and stick it deeper into your wallet than ever before cause he'll likely act like a huge dollar vortex and suck that cash outta yer hands faster n U can say ***:rotflmao Any fool can play with timing by ear...LOL

Also are his injectors NEW or just rebuilt, and who/where were they done if rebuilt? Does this salesman have a pop tester to ensure all the injectors are balanced prior to installation? How much are his return line kits? How much are the injectors...just some questions you may like to ask before you part with good money or bad money...cause really is there any difference...money is money

Yeah well hes full of ****. but feel free to believe whatever, I have ran all the injector types, bb codes are the overall best.

Again this comes down to asking questions, hopefully hotrod will listen to knowledge and not bow to slap happy sales of wanna be IDI diesel techs.

^^^ So what do you REALLY think?

Hotrod---LISTEN to what the guys on this board say. Its the truth.
Remember a salesman, ANY salesman, can only sell you what he has. If he has "E" injectors, that what he can sell. If he had "BB", he'd offer to sell you those, too.

The guys on here who sell stuff have well-earned reputations. They will stand behind whatever they sell. They also offer so much FREE advise and service that they have EARNED the respect of the members here.

You are only about 170 miles and 3 1/2 hours from Mel. Many would wish they were as close.

To determine what codes you have look at the wrench flats for the letter. Thats where the letter codes are stamped.

Hope I didnt offend anyone with my direct reply. I am tired of the shops telling folks "oh the e-codes are newer so they must be the best"

If you seriously want to buy rebuilds, I would rather you ship me your spares, I can do exactly what the rebuilder does, pop them after cleaning and take your money, difference is I have about 500 cores to chose parts from if yours are completely crap, BUT they will not be as good as new by any stretch. but they will be better than the run of the mill rebuild.

Hotrod... I do not know this person that will sell you E codes for $28.00 each.. That is a good price too. Many of us on this forum have done all of the "things" that can possibliy be done with these engines. We collectively know what works and most importantly know what will not work. Many of us have spent many hours and lots of money "trying other things and parts". So when its said plainly that this or that wont work.. Its not internet talk to make us feel like we have a great following. nobody here wants to be famous or get in any magazines but it has happened to a few. Being in a diesel magazine has happened to me twice and its kind imbarrassing to me... I'm nobody special. I just know what members here need and am willing to help no matter who you are. Russ and Mell sell a great part and do a fine service to all on this forum. If I may suggest to you just try what your friends father has to offer. If your not happy with that nobody here will say... "I told you so"... Thats not a reason to be part of this forum and it offends me personally when someone is put down on this fourm for trying or asking a question. This forum has seen some real nasty people come on here and call out the best of us. They then hide behind the internet thinking they are safe in their grannys basements on their Macs... They come and they go. Actually this fourm is a family oriented forum where we wecolme new members to the fold. They are not here on a trial or probation period either. If something "happenes" they are talked to.. If it happenes again they get a vacation but sometimes they get banned. Some have even come back under a differant ip address. Their profile comes out soon and they are gone again. Its just words on a screen. Please take this information as helping to understand that sellers outside of this forum will tell you anything to sell what they have to sell. Those that sell within this forum do it because they will be standing behind what they sell. Its not your money they want and then tell you to hit the road with your problems after they sold you some crap.. Read up whats happened to members her for buying from the lowest priced seller on ebay in Tenn. Now had that seller stood behind what he sold to some very good mechanical members on here many would have a differant feeling about the cheapest pumps and injectors on ebay.. But nope... He just blamed the guys for installing things wrong.. Read up and dicide for yourself. Its called THE HALL OF SHAME.. And it truely is a bunch of money hungey sellers doing in the buyers.

Gary, Very well put.

No one here as you said is here to brag or nothing we strive to be an informative and supportive forum Like Gary (Icanfixall) said.

Now outside the box has been done here too, and with some good results, however most here are daily drivers or work trucks that need to work and work right every single day! Thus there is not a lot of big builds other than simple and direct approach to service or rebuilds.

If you have questions the best thing is to search the forum up at the top where it says search. If you cannot find your answer that way, ask away. If someone knows the answer you'll get the info you need.

If your friends father has a product to sell and your willing to buy that great, if it's not what you expect or hope so be it, also if it's better than what you hope...BONUS!

Not sure but if your only a little ways away from Mel it just might be a good thing for you to meet him and see what he has to offer. Really from knowing him here only online and seeing his videos, and getting his PM"s he's a great guy who will be most happy to meet you and help you however he can.

We understand your truck is running poorly, truly it's understood, and if a pump and injectors are needed, why not talk with a specialist who knows these trucks inside out and backwards?

Hope you'll find what you need. And keep on workin on that truck. Heck new Pump and injectors along with a turbo...you'll think you bought a whole new truck! And best of all....no monthly payment!
