I crushed nicer more rare trucks for $140-150 a ton.

You could fab in a Chevy TBI set up, or you could find a Holley Projection set used, I just sold a complete kit, minus pump for $50.

For $1300, I would venture a guess you could find a nicer specimen. W/O the toilet of a 460, I was Ford EFI from the git go, and I dreamed of 10. Friend of mine claims 17 highway from his one 5 speed truck, but the other 5 speed truck is currently doing 8-10.

No. that perfectly tuned, maybe 10. Plan on 8. Maybe 6. If its tired, and it looks tired, 6-8 is a better spectrum than 8-10. Bonus is, it will be the same loaded or empty.

My Centurion EFI 460/E40D loaded to 15,200, trailer etc. did 8.8- 9.5. Empty drive around the city truck, 8.8 - 9.5. Less if I idled more. And we MADE time coming home from TX to ID, 75+ the whole way.

The only way that 460 makes sense, is if you had a fleet, and wanted to be able to swap parts between trucks.

the 460 was last used in 79. and then brought back in 83. the 351M and 400m were the "big blocks"for 80-82
