OEM fuel sensors

does anyone know the electrical specs for the fuel sensors? I have an OEM sensor with an aftermarket gauge and need to know if the mix-and-match setup will give me false fuel level readings. I have the aftermarket gauge data somewhere for comparison.

My 86 manual claims 73-10 ohms.

I put a summit fuel cell on as my second tank. It had a GM style sender. I ended up giving up and getting a gauge to match the sender. Hope you have better luck.

The sensor that comes with the gauge says 240-30 ohms but I'm assuming that this will change when the sensor is cut to size. I have an OEM sensor lying around in storage. I'll do a few tests with it and see what I come up with. I may have to put a resistor on it...
