Very VERY cool! You know, I was thinking of putting one in a Jeep Cherokee. They have an inline 6, and a lot of them are hooked up to an AW4, four speed automatic - so a MB inline 5 with the four speed auto should fit with no problem!

That would be cool! I remember someone did it with a Ford Ranger; worked really well...I think he was even able to mate the 5 speed to the 617.

A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to get a Toyota pickup with a dead engine, that I wanted to swap a 616 into...$$ and concerns over fighting the DMV made me abandon the idea, though
