new injector pump

i just replaced my injector pump ,and wondering which timing marks to
use as a start point top marks or side marks lined up ?
it is a 93 f350 idi 7,3 non turbo man. trans thanks for any info
the old pump was lined up on the side marks

Just stick the pump in straight up and down and fire it up. If it blows white/grey under load its retarded, If it blows alot of black its probably advanced.
I know thats a pretty coarse adjustment, but without a timing meter, thats all ya got.
