My IDI Diesel

I picked up my parts truck last weekend.I bought a 1988 F250 4x4 5spd.
My plan is to use the engine and find a two wheel drive ZF5. Then install it into my M715 Jeep with a few mods for alittle more power and reliablity.
I do have a question for the ZF experts.I have a two wheel drive Zf5 for a small block Ford.My quwstion is can I use the tail housing and output shaft to canvert a 4x4 trans to two wheel drive??

I'm pretty sure that will work. I think the only differences between the small block trans and the diesel trans is gear ratios and bellhousing.

If you decide to get rid of the 4x4, can i get the pedal assembly and stuff required to use the manual in place of a C6. I want to do the conversion.

I will be getting rid of whats left the truck after I pull the motor ,but as for the parts needed to change to a manual, the pedal assembly is about all that I wount be useing.

it should work but you have to dissasembel the trans to swap the tail housing
