How interchangeable are parts for these trucks in close model years? Meaning, I have a 1990 F250 7.3idi - would a 1993 F350 7.3idi be a suitable parts vehicle or are there too many differences beyond the motor? Or should one stick to the same model year for parts?

There were a lot of changes for the 92 model year. I would suggest if you are looking to maximize parts scavenging, stick with donors within the same generation. So for a 90 I would stick with 87-91 preferably 88-91 as there are some smaller changes between 87 and 88 model year.

Thanks. Thats what I figured, but a 93 donor is available locally so I thought Id double check.

The only difference I'm aware of in those years would be the 92 might be serp belt. I think the early 92s were v belt and the later ones I think we're serp. Otherwise I believe they are identical. Factory turbos didn't come about until 93 I believe.
