So, after seeing a fleet of CUCVs go by my house he other day, they've piqued my interests. I'm looking to know more about them. I know this much so far:
1.25 or 1.5 ton running gear
6.2L Diesel
TH400 Trans
Dana 60 front axle
GM 14 Bolt 10.5" Rear

When was the earliest they came along?
Did they have 16", or 16.5" wheels?
What ratio axles were under them?
What T-case was used? Divorced or attached?
Anything else worth knowing?

I think the CUCV series appeared in 1984, but you can check online. Gear ratio in the axles was 4.56:1. Many came with a Gov-Lok locker. You can search that too, for more information about it. I think the transfer case was the NP 208, married/attached. Not many Chevrolet/GMC vehicles came with divorced cases since the early 1970s.

The CUCV series came with 24-volt systems.

Are the motors any different? I heard that they have an EGR delete

They were rated for 5 more hp than the civilian engines.

A few were made with NP205s b/c of the PTO output.
Curb weight was 5,900lbs for truck
16 inch wheels on truck variant
15 inch wheels on blazer variant
Truck had 4.56 gears
Blazer had 3.08 gears
Brush guards on the front as well as tow hooks front and rear

I've read that in '84 and '85 GM changed all the 14 bolt 10.5's Anybody know what that was, and why they did it?
