Mass air flow sensor. ???

My boss recently bought a early 99 350 that has a DIY. Cold air set up. The Mass air sensor is not hooked up and we want to know if that makes a big difference in how the truck runs. It does run ok now. It has injector issue we need to address soon. It's not real bad but you can hear it. Esp higher rpms.

Yes it will. Might make quite a difference in MPG.

If it's a 7.3, it doesn't have a MAF.
If you're talking about a little sensor, it's the intake air temp sensor. Doesn't exactly have to be in the air stream, but you could tie it to the filter. I put mine in the end of the filter.

Early 99 7.3. I'll just rob the sensor off the parts truck. And tie it in
