Last picture is the rerason we were going to do a in frame and then found two spun mains so pulled the wholw thing. We sourced a crank and block from a pickup.

Doing another IDI I would find a factory turbo for its rods! I want more power so I can install taller gears but I have already broken one wrist pin. I wonder all the time if that pin was just defective? I broke it within 3,000 VERY hard miles of my rebuild and I have gone more than 5k since I replaced the piston rod and pin and been just fine. S/A dump trucks tend to get a real work out due to their higher ground pressure and sinking ability that comes along with it.

Love it! I rented a S1600 Uhaul once with an IDI in it. Had a clark 5 speed and a big air compressor to run the rear suspension. That dump truck is top shelf. Great paint job on the motor, and you have to love the IH specific tidbits... oil pan, clocked oil fill, dipstick, motor mounts.. etc.

Did that 94' pickup have a line lock on the front brakes? Had to!

Rears were well out of adjustment;Sweet I once wired the rear abs solenoid on a Dodge to lock out the rear brakes on demand.
I love the S-1600 but I often wish it had the 466.
My egt tops out at 950F no I/C.
Thanks for the complaments! I have LOTS of time and and a good bit of money into that dump truck.

That truck must be putting some pretty good power to the ground, it has some serious go juice for being that large.

Man, that S-1600 is very cool! But, I can see where the DT466 would be a better option for heavy loads. What tranny is behind the IDI in that IH? Thanks for posting the photos and videos. You should bring those trucks to the Rally next year.;Sweet

The S-1600 is running a 4054D Spicer 5spd direct with a Eaton Road Ranger clutch and a Spicer 2spd rear.

I would love to attend if it was closer, and besides id also have to bring my Dodges for any competition activities.:D
