lift pump life?

hello. does any one know how long a lift pump is good for. should you replace them every so many miles. thanks for any help on this one.

There cheap around $30. If it looks like it's going to fall apart from rust change it. Just replaced one an an 88 cause it was all rusty, that 21 yrs old.

The best would come from International or Ford, but also the most expensive.

AC Delco are good, usually repackaged original equipment. And less expensive than Ford or IH. Check Rockauto.com, they have good prices and a selection.

After 21 years and 186,000 miles I'm on #2...what the heck, when I get some time I'll change it out.

thanks, i got a tstat and a lift pump coming from ford, thats lucky to still be able to get it for the 86, they most of the time tell me the parts are obsolite and cant get them old parts.
