Hey guys, do I have to support the IC by more than those two tabs at the top or is that all I need??

Wow, nice job. Can I mount it higher or did you mount it that way for a structural reason?

I welded tabs to the frame so I could use the stock lower mounts.

Thanks, I think I'm gonna do the same as you Slade.

Ok, now the intercooler is in, at least sitting there ready to be mounted. Ok, crappy cuts, I know. Thats what I get for using a sawsall.:D My 1 inch tranny cooler is behind it, had to fab up a bracket for that, I'll get pics of that later. I'm gonna weld some bracket up to hang it on.....stay tuned!

Questions, comments, tips, Thanks!

Looks good just make sure the holes througth the core support don't rub on the pipes.

What do you think the effect of that will be. Do you think the core support will cut through the pipe? This seems likely to me. But at the rate the Lady Moose puts the miles on, I may have quite a few years to remedy it.

Just easier to make sure you have enough clearance now rather that have to fix it later.

you might want to add some rubber grommets on the top mounts. take some of the vibration out of intercooler.

has anyone experienced a real pressure drop with these? I'm on the fence about spending 300 or a water to air intercooler or just get a regular one... guess I need someone to talk me into it...

Sure. Your expected to loose a couple of pounds of boost. But don't confuse presure loss with performance loss. Presure loss = performance GAIN. Because the air going in is denser (more air) for more combustion.

I understand how that works, but the water to air ones claim no more than .05 psi drop. I think I'm gonna go for the water to air setup, everyone is curious and there is only so much you can do to these motors without tearing them down...
