Just purchased 99 dodge 3500 dually with 98000 miles. 5.9 cummins 24 valve 5 speed manual 4.10 rear reg cab with 8 ft. box. Should be a puller for 26 ft livestock trailer. Replacing my chevy 3500 dually with 454 and 4 speed had 195000 miles it was a good truck 1990 model. Didn't know abouth this engine block problem mine has the number 53 cast. Been reading about adding fuel pressure gauge, when i have more time would like to add some other little goodies any suggestions. We run john deer on the farm so am used to diesels been adding john deer fuel conditioner to our fuel because we do not have a steady supply of bio diesel. What would be the best additive for this truck. Also wondering on the rpms for running down the road with the low rear end what is the high end rpm recomended. This truck was a 1 owner seems to have been well cared for and regular matinence. Thanks

Welcome to the site.

Sounds like a nice truck.

As for fuel conditioner I like the power service stuff that you can get at walmart and tractor supply.

Welcome..........

1St - you need gauges - minimum Fuel pressure and EGT - especially since you will be towing.

Sweet spot is 1900-2200 rpm's, you get the best economy and you are right in the middle of the torque band.
