how to test starter?

hey everyone, been havin trouble with my truck starting ever since it started getting cold out, thouht it was my batteries but left them out of the truck after beening charged and they turned the truck right over..but not for long.. everything works radio headlights...manual gp's but it will only crank for a while then it acts like the battery is dead? could my starter be getting weak? can i test it some how?

How old are the batteries? Charge them and then do a load test on each battery individually (not connected to the system) . Check the battery connections and cables for corrosion etc. and then look at the starter.

battiers are 2 years old..charged them 2days ago did a load test..both seemed fine..let them sit in my garage for 2days, cleaned posts and cables and the 2 grounds on the block..put batteries in today and crank for a little bit..but not for long and no clicking?
