how do you test the fuel shut off solenoid on the pump? because i wanna see if this is causing me my fuel problems before i get my pump repaced thanx in advance

good question! Mine sounds like it clicks on and off a whole bunch right after the glow plugs are done heating...

Just pull the wire off it and crank it over. If it starts and keeps running, well you know. If it won't start then it's holding closed.

You are hearing your glow plugs solenoid cycle after it is done heating the plugs.
