Hey guys, some of you might know my fiance dyoung14, and probably heard about his 1986 F-250 6.9 IDI. Well anyway I was wondering if someone could tell me a little about getting a Moose Pump. I only know the things he tells me and it would take the fun out of having him know what he's gettin.. I'd really appriciate the help :D

1st off, welcome to the site. 2nd, I think this thread will be a dead give away of your intentions.LOLLOL If you must know, the Moose pump is about one of the best pumps you can get. These are modified to give more fuel for more power and EVERY step is taken to assure that they are top quality. Use the search engine on this site, there is much info available. You will need a core to send out for the rebuild. Leave a private message with Mel, his screen name is agnem. Best of luck;Sweet

They are still going to be made, just the turn around will be longer than normal.

As far as price, I think Mel requries a couple hundred $$$ deposit when you ship him a pump. Depending on how much work needs done (it is rebuilt at the same time as modded), it could be $500-750.

Glad to see another IDI couple out there. I met my wife through IDI's (long story LOL). WTH would I be in Tyler, Tx otherwise?!?!?

Moose pump are still being made. They are a bit slower on turn arounds because of the shop down sizing but they are being made. They are rebuilt far better than any pump shop that we, the people that drive these rigd have found across the US and Canada. The the Moose Man does the fuel curve. Thats the big secret. The parts used are oem and not some cheap chinese knockoff with a large tollarence. I know enought about these pumps to say I can't begain to rebuild one. I can do anything on an engine but not a pump. I trust Mel and his specialists for that. Mel is a fair guy to deal with. Welome to the site and enjoy the reading...
