just got back from a weekend at the farm... and things aren't looking any better with the old beast. I tightened all the fuel lines at the filter and none of my injectors look like they are leaking.

Could my lift pump be bad? or is there some other things i could check first?

Time to crawl under truck with an LED flashlight and start examining the fuel lines - start from the fuel filter and work your way back to the tank selector valve. Check the fittings at the lift pump, the hose between the lift pump and the steel line on the frame, and the steel line under the engine and then plastic line connection insider the frame rail.

i still dont think it is so much of an air leak problem. when it is running, check for psi and volume to rule out lift pump.

Sounds like a worn IP to me, or no glow plugs.
