Is there a difference in injection system from 95 to 98.... I know I have read that something changed... maybe it was the pump?

I think that the later pumps were updated with ceramic rollers to combat low sulfur fuel's lack of lubrication. It was probably replace at some point though... Best advice I can give is leave it stock and treat it like it's a 305 gas motor and it will hold up...
