Going from a 3.73 to 3.31 due to tire size increase

I do a lot of pulling, a 6,000 pound toy hauler, and an 8,000 pound boat... I have ben thinking about the gear ratio chnge with adding 35 inch tires, and hw that will effect me on long trips.... I was not planning to add a chip sice the 6.0 is not very.. well its not chip friendly... I really dont want guages, and I would need them....

So, does anyone have experience with this stock..

70 mph should be around 1800 rpms

NOTE- a new tire size calculator told me the 3.31 gear ratio would be the equivalent to my stock tires... Im looking at 4.11 or 4.30 if I NEED to change...

If anything you are going to want to go LOWER gears. Say from 3.73 to 4.10's or whatever ford uses.

What i did tony was go to a caluculator.... Put in the original tire size, then the new one, and my current gear..... It told me my ratio was going to change to 3.31 due to the increase in tire size.... The ratio really is not changing... but the larger tires will make it seem like a 3.31...

That was my queation, if there would be a need to go to 4.11 or 4.30..... Or if the powerstroke will suck up the difference.... Sorry I was not clear...

It'll suck it up. Changing gears is expesive. 'Chipped' you should have enough to go around.
