glow plugs

Hi all I'm looking at a 93 Chevy with 6.5 the owner says that it needs new glow plugs
do they swell like the Fords do ?

They might swell if they are the old ceramic design, the new ones have a metallic composite material that is not porus like ceramic. If it needs new glow plugs most of the time it there is an electrical problem that leads to plug failure. If you get the truck I would recommend installing AC Delco 60g.
