Yup. Vibration is the issue. These are basically the same elements you would see in a hot water heater. They aren't really designed to be jarred around very much when hot.

Just added that to my, "Something I learned today list." How long should you unplug it before you start the truck? Since I walk up from behind my truck every day, I've been reaching in and starting it then walking to the front and unplugging it.
