Fuel tank sender

Does the rear fuel tank level sender ground out thought the tank or is it grounded through the plug for the sender. The reason I ask is I just painted my new tank and am wondering if the fuel sender will work now because of the paint.

Yes, there is a ground wire attached to the sender, it grounds thru the clamping ring. If you make one little bare place on the hanger strap that should be good. See the little black wire twisted around the sender, that's the ground wire, it's revited too the ring.
Edit: If you have the three pole connector, what I said above is true, if you have the four pole connector then ground is in the connection.

i have the four wire connector. i ohmed out the connector with the tank laying upside down and i had 150 ohms between two pins so i should be good.
