Mine is freezing up( either stays on the empty tank or switches the gauge but not the tank)!
Sometimes... Not allways.
I have searched here and read thru the tech articles, I know I saw a thread about fsv issues.
I expect there is a short in the dash switch, or the valve has a short or is gummed up.
Anyone point me to the info before I tear into this thing?!
Thanks in advance cb

You can disassemble it and clean it. I would bet wiring is not the issue.
I think it was towcat or oldbull.

So there's probably showerhead trash holding the valve in place( yippie) everything I've found agrees with your input.
(drat) gunna click 41k this weekend, guess its time to work on a ford.
Last month the scooter, 2weeks ago the yota spit some teeth on the pinnion, all the time the ford was golden.
I have a theory that one vehicle sees another gets some love the other one gets mad!

Never seen a short in the dash. Have seen corrosion in the pins of the plug going into the valve. that is easier to check for than actual crap in the valve.

I know @OLDBULL8 posted some pics of disassembling the FSV a while back. I had that thread in my subscriptions, but I'll be darned if I can find it now. IIRC you carefully drill out the rivets (or whatever you want to call those one time fasteners) and then you can take the cover off the FSV. When reassembling, you hold the cover back on with small machine screws to replace the rivets. Wish I could find that thread - the pics were very clear and would show what the FSV looks like when you open it up. I will keep looking and maybe Bill will see this thread too.

Bill the Oldbull has done this. It was about a year and a half ago. Read THIS posting. It should help you.

Good luck.

Lost all my pics and Doc's again, but still have the pic's here on OB. Getting a new computer and External Hard drive next Tuesday. Tired of loosing all my stuff. I know I screwed up changing to WIN 10 then trying to go back to WIN 7.

If you need pic's of the FSV, I can post them from the pic's on here. Sorry.

Oh hell I missed the "THIS" above.

You should back up your computer to that External Hard Drive. You only loose what you don't back up.

I've got a 178 pics on a Flash drive from my other HP puter, but nothing I had on this Dell.

I do have 783 pic's (attachments) stored on OB storage.

I just had a thought while looking at bills pics,,,,
Both tanks run clean down into the E, and take 18 and 19 gallons each.
No telling till I get under it , thanks to bill for the pics.
