There is a sticky in the tech section on this. Its very simple procedure and some have just done away with it all together. I got my replacment o-ring from an IH dealer for like $3.00.

I have done away with mine and I live in Canada, it was 27 below freezing (celcuis) for a few weeks last winter and never gave me greif.

I just plugged mine with some good epoxy...sounds cheap I know but it worked.

I dont really thing that small heating element would make a difference anyway. I mean how much heat can a piece of metal the size of mechanics wire really add?

Remove it andJB Weld the hole...Or fill the hole with rtv of good quality... Not enough pressure in there to blow out the rtv either. I really don't know why these heaters arein there either. I think they are on all the time too. Maybe they are there to warm up the injectionpumps so they last longer on cold morning startups....:dunno
