I have been having problems with my fuel filter leaking after about 3k miles. :puke: It always seems to leak on the bottom where the metal bowl with the drain valve and the water senor is. I started looking at other filters to see if someone has made a filter that does away with the metal bowl on the bottom.

I found that baldwin filters makes one the part number for the 93 7.3 turbo is BF1222-SP here is a link to the filter on baldwin's site

http://catalog.baldwinfilter.com/PartImages/BF1222-SP.jpg

hope this helps yall I paid 31.00 for it this afternoon and all youhave to do is take the sensor port out of the metal bowl and screw it into the new filter:thumbsup:

33617 with port, 33417 without port - I think exekiel - Napa uses 4 digits, Wix uses 5, same filter otherwise but the Napa one is like $35

Anyway, as he said, it eliminates the fuel bowl. Have one on mine. You can get them with or without the water in fuel sensor port. I use the one with - I believe they are listed in the parts number sticky post as well, either way.

I'd like to have the drain petcock option on my 6.9 trucks. Happen to know a part # for one that would fit them?

Don't think we located one. It is a smaller thread than the 7.3 (7/8X14) and I am sure there is one out there, I just don't think anyone researched it so much.

I use the BF1222-SP on my truck. I'm trying to get the same in a Fleetguard as Baldwin stuff is not my 1st choice. Car-Quest sells a filter that will cross up to the BF1222-SP - has the drain **** and "water in fuel" sensor as well.

Baldwin eh....Around here they don't have a great rep - last choice if we are out of Fleetguard stuff - there is only one place that carries them around here too....Cummins owns Fleetguard and they are super **** about filtration so make very good filters. I get stuff at cost at work so it costs me about $28cdn to do a service on my IDI with 10L of Rotella-T bulk oil and a Fleetguard oil filter. I change my fuel filter ever 2nd service as they are expensive ($22 for the Baldwin fuel filter) and I only put like 3000-4000km on the IDI every 3 months.

Baldwin is a big supplier to the railroad industry also. Too bad Clark doesn't make any filters like these, as they manufacture right in Lancaster PA.
