i may dyno it if i can find a spot.
there are a few around, but i refuse to go to these "commercial" diesel spots
you know the ones, the ones that claim to be a diesel performance shop, but dont even have a pop tester.
or a timing meter, the ones that only deal with electronic BS.
not really too worried about how much i can put down tho.
dynoing these engines is more for bragging rights than peak performance.

FAILURE #1
THIS IS NOT A GOOD SIGN :(
new zd9 plugs, new wiring.
new controller.
12.5V to the hot side of the solenoid.
12.5V to the trigger wire.
white wire fluxuates inbetween 10.5-12.5

max of 4V going to the plugs,
and the controller only clicks.

anything other than a bad controller?
grounds are golden, even the one at the top of the VC to the controller.

Clicks like a dead battery trying to turn a starter or a slow click like it's in the post fire up cycle?

added a ground straight to the battery.
checked all plugs with an ohm meter
all of them were 1.0-1.1
resistance in the glow plug harness is 00.3
i have tried 3 controllers now, and 1 worked great on the last engine.
only thing different is the location of the GPC.
took the FSS wire off the controller to make sure that wasnt it
(i wired it like that for temp use)
makes no sense.

batterys are fully charged,
talking about the controller, it will only click, and not heat plugs.

I like my manual gps. If that controller fails, the truck is going nowhere anyway! Anxiously awaiting updates...

misshap #2&3

so, after letting the magic smoke out of GPC # 3,
i said screw it and jumped the the GPC,
she popped off and died.
checked timing and it was not where it was last timed @ 9*
tried to loosen IP, but it was already hanging on by 1 nut! lol
retarded IP to previous marks, and tightened all 3 this time.
went to fire it off again, it fired, and died.
again, and held throttle open a bit and she roared to life!
let it return to idle, idle was low, and it died.
ok turn up idle screw....
now she fires and idles about 600 rpms.

new cam disturbed previous timing marks,,, sure of it.

i let it run for about 15 seconds, and saw i needed more water.
shut it down, and she stopped.
a second after its completely shut down, i hear a TING with a THUD.
oops......

First ... Back up and regroup!

Question.
Explain the white wire issue' is it making resistance out of spec?

Ok seaBee. Go back to the critical path ! footings ,foundation, joice, deck, walls lid.
You will find it!

all nuts and bolts tight,
the only ones that were loose are the ones ive found.
i did destroy the radiator.
slapped another one in, glad it was a cheapie, and not my champion.
but this is why i did an engine run stand.
i dont want issues when i install it.
simply fire it up and go.
cleaned the garage.
got it ready to fire up.
Anthony is using the compressor, im taking a break.
i really need to get rid of that POS 10 gal tank electric compressor.
loud and obnoxious.

got that IDI Virus thats going around.

well she started ticking,
which was my worst fear.

#7 intake rocker not getting enough oil,
but the pushrod had oil in it.
maybe the lack of run time.
but this isnt causing my tick.

this is....
246&8 look ok
No noise

gonna check lengths of PR, and use another set of rockers from the last engine.

oil seems really thin already..
maybe 20 minutes of run time total.
