I have had the fan belt on my 1992.5 F250 come off twice now. Both times it was on the 1.5 mile driveway that is very rough. Also both time had quite a bit of water around. What does everyone think time for a new adjuster? -cuss

I take it you have a serpentine belt, right ??

Does it eat away a rib or two before flying off ??

Usually, a bad tensioner/idler will chew away a rib at a time for several days before completely throwing the belt. :)

Nope just looks good to me. What I am woried about is the spring tension on an 18 YO truck.

if anything is out of line, the water will let the belt slip off of smooth pullies.
