F700 3G alternator

Anybody looked into a 3G off an F700 (truck 429)? They are V belt already but after looking at a couple threads I see that there are several flavors of the 3G alternator that look similar. I guess my question is do you think there is enough adjustment to accomodate the F700 3G as it looks like it is of the shorter ~7.X" (hole to hole in the mounting ears) variety rather than the longer ~8.x" variety that would be a direct bolt on based on the quick measurement I made the other night.

So a F700 has a 3G alternator? And it bolts on directly? What about the wiring?

Some of them did. You can find them if you look it up. Wiring is the same as a standard 3G conversion. Search for that. Pretty sure it's in the tech articles. I can't speak for bolting from direct knowledge but if Russ says it will work, I'd tend to think it would. May need to tweak the adjustment bracket.
