Now that would be a project for sure. Drop in a 2nd generation Cummings, six speed tranny, 2 speed rear end, nice flatbed.

Billy I'm sure it's a conversion. The 450s used a 4X4 transmission so the conversion is down to just getting a transfercase linkages and a suitable front axle with matching gear ratios.

Thawhat I thought as well. But if you look at the front tires they actually look to be ten lugs. Its possible it was built by another company other than ford.

I'd love to have that front axle for my DT466 project. The pumpkin appears to be in the center of the axle. Probally not a standard Dana 60 that's for sure. Marmon Herrington did some 4x4 stuff on medium duty Fords. I wonder if they did this one as well.

Me, I couldn't see paying $3500 for a truck you can't drive off.

FORD never made a 4wd F-superduty, a.k.a F450(10 lug).
But there were quite a few companys who concerted them to 4wd.

I think 3500 is a bit much for a truck that need that kind of work

And i would like to know how it runs and drives if it need a t-case installed

What axles are underneath the 4500 GMC's that are 4x4's? Something like that perhaps?

It does look like a passenger side drop front axle....Maybe it just had it's hubs filled up with weld and redrilled?
