Is there any difference in the two engines.
I have a 89, 1 ton, crewcab, 4x4, with the E4OD and a 7.3 N/A.
I've found a couple 93-94 turbo engines within reasonable driving distance and was woundering if there is anything special about swaping the two? Just a direct bolt in using all the same wires going same place?

Thanks

James

A turbo block serial number will start at 1,116,331 and goes up from there. Anything lower than that is a non turbo block.. Now the bad part. Even if the numbers are correct the internals "could be replaced" and the non turbo rods and pistons are in the motor. Otherwise everything else in the motor is the same either turbo, non turbo or 6.9 motor. The parts are all the same.... Thats the crank, cam, all the gears, the oil pump, the seals and gaskets (outside the heads between the 6.9 &7.3)... Even the casting numbers are the same.....:dunno
