93 Ford F-350 7.3L NA IDI Performance Upgrades, Electric Fuel Pump Options

Guys, I just bought a 93 F-350. Its a 7.3L IDIT (orifiginally before 7.3L NA change) with the\ZF5.

Looking to upgrade the stock air system and convert to an electric fuel pump.

For the intake, I am looking at replacing the air filter and housing with a KN style Extreme with the Round Filter and Filter Top.. http://www.knfilters.com/universal/X-stream.htm

For the fuel pump, I am looking at the recommend 4-7psi range. I am considering Mr. Gasket 12D (4-7psi) or the Airtex 8090 (5-9psi). Also where is the best place to install the electric pump?

I heard bad things about those Mr. Gasket ones. I just put a Delphi in mine and am pretty happy with it. I have a Walbro I will put on the frame rail at some point but I went this route for ease of setup for the intial install. It's a Delphi FD0002. 5-7 psi. Solenoid style pump. I believe it has a built in check valve. I mounted to the fuel filter housing. This is not my pic, but same place.

I too would say stay away from Mr Gasket. And I'm not sure how much real performance could be seen with that intake lid, but may as well give it a try. I would expect more if the lid sat above the hood where the engine temps arent an issue. Things get HOT underthere.
