my $h!t is stuff
With all the posts I've been seeing of the DT swaps, I'm curious as to what all they came in...
They say it sucks gas and is slow compared to the FUSO.
I'm sure they are conservatively set to give a very long service life. Those little chinese engines probably will not last as long. Considering that you can get an extra 100 HP out of a DT just by turning up the pump and doing nothing else, sort of hints that they are sleeping giants.
Would it be possible to put a DT466 into one of our trucks?
parting out 3 S1900 85-86 with dt466 engines 210hp/dana cm-6052-c trans
1 S1700 1986 with 9.0L engine/allison 653 trans
1 cargostar 1950 1978 with dt466 210hp/allison 653 trans
most have 200,000 miles but they are well maintained state vehicals, some have maintance records
asking 800$for engine/trans combo or 500$ ea. other parts available
Are these DT engine easy to come by? No, I'm not looking for myself, but thought to post this for sale ad just in case someone was looking to try it. I don't know the going rate for one of these engines either, so no opinion on pricing from me...
