Free bump, I "think" the diffs are the same the axle shafts are different? But I dunno for sure!
I have an 88 fsm if no one chimes in.

I would personally start looking up bearings and gear sets for each truck and see if they interchange.

If you can swap the locker around I believe you will need to keep the yoke with the gear set it came from. As I think the long pinion takes a long yoke.

i have a FSM, but its just shows how to set the diff up and get your backlash and pattern right. it shows a different part # between the two differentials but i am hoping thats just because ones a locker and ones an open diff.

may have to do like Junk said and look up the bearing sets and if there the same just crack em both open and go for it, and see if i can mix and match some parts to get what i want.

So it only took a year, 3 parts trucks, and a new shop, but its finally alive and kickin again.

Cant wait to start driving it everyday again.
