I have stainless bolts in my 96 Crewcab Stainless diff covers. I am CONSTANTLY tightening them. At first it thought it was the bolts that came with the cover, so I bought new ones from the hardware store. But those are no better, the stainless bolts fit into the housing sloppy. I even put lock-tite on them but that doesn't work either. I think I am going to go to Grade 8 bolts like my 97 w the aluminum cover has.

just some food for thought

I'll add my vote on the stainless allen head capscrews. Those look really sharp. You can take a couple of bolts and cut the heads off to make some locating studs to help you get the cover on without smooging the Permatex all over the place.

Is there a cheap alum housing for Dana 60's? I wish I had a sterling so I could get one of these cool ford ones. If I ever find one in 4:56 I am buying it!
