I'm not too terribly worried about that. I can hit it with my honing machine and work out some small imperfections. I just need a block with good starter mounting holes. I'll piece most of the rest of it together with my current (still running) engine.

I'll get a pic of those cylinder walls for you, The previous owner said he had to beat the pistons out with a block of wood and big baby sledgehammer. I'll pop a head off and get a good look at it. I'll set the engine under something so it isn't getting wet anymore.

I think Ironman wants that flywheel though...

That's fine; the flywheel wouldn't work for me anyway. I have a 700r4 and they're different torque converter bolt patterns than the TH400.

I might need it for a project in the future. What do you want for it shipped to zip 44802?

I got that flexplate weighed and will box it up if you still want it. How is $25 shipped sound? If it were 2.5 inches less in diameter it could go a lot cheaper. If I find the bolts, I'll throw them in the box too.

Sure, not a problem.

Lindstromjd,
Here are the links to the pics for the cylinder walls, I thought they were in much worse shape to hear the previous owner describe them. I would hone those and reuse it, I forgot to check the starter holes with a bolt, but I did see threads down in there at least.

It does not show up in the pics, but you can still see crosshatching all up and down the walls and no real ring ridge, just the slightest bump, may be carbon.

Thanks. Looks good enough for my purposes. The worst that's going to happen is I end up boring it out, which is no big deal. How do you want to work out meeting up?

As of now, I am available to meet you whenever you get here. I did apply with the USDA for inspecting cotton this fall but I doubt I will meet the requirements for the job. I have an engine hoist and I won't tear anything apart in the driveway till after you come by and get this engine. I should be able to work around your schedule if you know it. Glad someone can use it, I hate scrapping good things, but I can't save it all.

Cool. I'll be up that way the second week of September. I'll PM you with my phone number so we can work more out.
