So Im getting to put some new springs on my heads for the dually. Im measuring the install height and coming up with 1.78-1.77 on the intake and 1.85 on the exhaust. Its the intake too tight? Im going to shim the exhaust sides to 1.8.

Am I missing something?

Check that recession VERY CAREFULLY. It MATTERS, especially on the "less" side. More is better; if you are out of spec by a few thou too much, it'll be OK.
If you are a few thou shy of the spec, though(not enough recession).... you'll end up with big problems in short order.

I don't know the exact figures, but my ford manual shows different spring heights for intake and exhaust. I shimmed my exhaust springs to 1.8 and left the intakes shimless at 1.78

Recession is good, its just my intake spring height.
I was well in spec on both intake and exhaust.

If 1.78 is good on the intake I can get the long block assembled this weekend.
