My '83 GMC 3/4 truck was an export model, the speedo is KM with the MPH in small numbers and the temps gauge is Celsius. Not sure if the oil pressure gauge is metric or not. Can I just swap the guages from a US truck in a junkyard into my truck and have everything work ok?? What is a good celsius temp for the engine to be at?

Thanks

I think you will be just fine. All the guages in that truck are anaolog. They electrinic instrument pannels are much harder to corect.

100* is the boiling point of water. 125* is catastrophic.
Typically it should run about 1 or 2 lines below the 100*
mark which would put you about 190-195*F.
Oil pressure varies on a lot of things. For example,
mine is just under 200 at warm idle, just under 400
at highway cruise, and cold start is way over 400. You
could change it out easy enough if it drives you nuts.

The metric system is a piece of cake once you learn it.
Everything is divisible by 10. They made it so easy,,,,,
with enough training, even Canadians can learn to use it.
