best method to clean fuel tank

I pulled off the bed of my truck today, to check out the sending unit
and of course the shower head is broken in million pieces. I have half a tank of diesel and there are tons of small black plastic pieces in the tank, what would you guys do?

Does autozone or someone carrier a new fuel sending unit gasket?
should i do shower head mod or buy the showerhead.
what fuel line can we use on our trucks for return and sending?

Just use fuel line to extend the pickup. 3/8's iirc. I put a brass tee at the bottom to keep it from sucking to the tank, but you can cut a birds mouth also.
Should be able to get the O-ring.
For me I just stuck my arm down in the tank and pulled all the pieces out. Used a flashlight.
