Are 6.9L engine mounting dimensions close to that of a Ford 460 gas engine?

The 460 is a bigger motor is all I can say... I don't believe they even use the same mounts.

You have it backwards. The 6.9 is much bigger! Outside dimensions for sure! Trust me... I converted my 79 from a 460 to a 6.9. I also had to install a body lift on the P/U. Otherwise it wont fit. JMHO

I have a couple of each sitting in my shop, but don't have time to measure the mounting points right now.
You are going to have to fab on it anyway, and I don't think it will be too far off. Just depends on how much work you want to do.

I have fix or six engines in the shop and no stands... I use tires and wood blocks.

Dang, I was hoping it would be close. Well, I guess I will have to make my own.

Thanks to everyone for their responses.

Sorry I was thinking about another engine! I got the 6.9 confused with another 6.x diesel LOL!
