Hello folks, my name is Ryan and I finally bit the bullet and bought my first diesel yesterday, a 1993 F-250 7.3l turbo 4x4 with a 5-speed transmission. I've been lurking on here for the past few days trying to learn as much as I can in anticipation. Anyways, I used for the forum search and couldn't find anything to my liking. I am wanting to purchase a service or something like it so I can have it to begin my project. Could anyone recommend one over another? They also seem a bit difficult to find online, so if anyone has any ideas where to order one without costing an arm and a leg that'd be great. Thanks for the help, and I look forward to meeting everyone!

Factory manual is the best. Anything else is just a cheap, abridged shadow of that. Go to eBay and start looking. There are also many specialists online that sell factory manuals. You can find decent deals. A cheapass Haynes is better than nothing but they try to cover multiple years. If you get the factory manuals for the exact year of your truck, you get EVERYTHING, bumper to bumper in exquisite detail.

I got a cd rom with factory manuals on it. I copied it and sent it to riotwarrior , I'm waiting to here from him to see if it works. Maybe he will chime in. I was hoping he could send in a e mail and give it to people.

Set of manuals in Marketplace for sale...slightly older so just some body and electrical changes...but mechanically the trucks would essentially be identical

Welcome to the forum.

I prefer the factory shop manual with the numbers CGES 435-1. It covers the 1991 engine and not any other gas or diesel engines. They refer to it as the Engine service manual. In the front of that book is other manuals like the complete break down of the injection pump That manual is CGES 475. The solid state glow plug manual is CGED 470.
