I just picked up a new truck. it's a 1985 Mack R-model single axle with a EM-6 300 engine, and a 9 speed Road Ranger and rides on 11r22.5 fronts on Alcoas and lo-pro 22.5's in the back on steelies. it was a tractor but I just put a 9' dump on it. I had to make a custom exhaust. it also has an air-ride cab, and air conditioning (which doesn't work), and p/s. I just put a radio in it and brand new 4x6 Polk speakers in the grills in the headliner but I can't turn them up or it distorts so bad, I think I need a set of 6x9's in there somewhere.

I am looking for a used Jake Brake to put on the engine, then it needs a paint job.

anyone else have a Mack??

Don,

By the description of what you have, sounds like a great start. No doubt Mack makes the best dumps out there, especially for on/off road work.

I'd love to own one someday.

I don't own one but I do drive one at work sometimes. It is a '98 CH tractor with an E7-427 and 13 speed. We pull a lowbed with it. Its a good truck.

I got a 2000 Mack CL 713 set up for heavy duty work. I got 46,000lbs rears in it.
I pull a 35 foot dump trailer with it also a roll off trailer, and flat bed. If I ever figure out how to post pictures I will post some pictures of it. :Q
