86 f250 4x4 it had no gear on the vss when i got it. Pulled the back cover and the drive gear looks good so put a new driven gear in and new cable. Everything seemed to work fine for about 10 milea until i noticed my cruise control acting up. If you are going 60 and step on the go pedal the speedometer needle will move back to 50 until you let off then it reads correct.
