If it actually does make a difference, perhaps we should copy it? Easy to do. The top looks as if they redesigned the soup bowl to make it a little shallower. And if I didn't have so many extra paper filters, I would have a K&N filter too.

How about a shot of the bottom of it. Seems like it's going to have a step at the bottom where it sits on the intake. That would make for some turbulence and possibly defeat any smoothing it may make.

I had the same thing on a 6.2 but in this case it held the base of the air cleaner to the intake and the air cleaner lid was held down by clips

I have the raywell lid, which used stock IDI filter. After i swapped it for my Banks lid i noticed an immediate difference. If u want the raywell lid for testing lemme know.

28%???? maybe going from a plugged muffler and air filter to a whole new in and out system, but I am skeptical.

The better y-pipe and muffler Is probably the only thing that made any difference. The intake plate might make sense if you are trying to pull 1200cfm through that same hole...

Looks like another gimmick. I can see it helping smooth out airflow, But not enough to make a noticable difference.
