Simplicity with maintenance. You won't have to remove the upper radiator hose to replace the serpentine belt when it wears out. It's a peace of mind thing that (in my opinion) should have been like that from the factory. I've never seen it before or since on any other engine I've worked on.

Well that would be a good mod to do for ease of maintenance. I assume you did that to yours? Where can you get it?

Yep I did it when I had to take a long road trip out to AZ. You can get the hose from any parts store. Don't remember the part number but if you do a search you can find it pretty easily. The part number may even be in the stickies.
