There is a 98 e4od out of a van near me for sale from a powerstroke van.

Does anyone know much about these? Would it be identical to a 97 from a truck with all the upgrades or would it be more of a 4r100?

It has the 6 stud converter so I would probably get a local machine shop to re drill the tin piece on a heavy flex plate.

I'd also run a Baughman controller with this set up

What's your thoughts? Converter to tail shaft the guy wants $350 and I'd love to ditch the c6 but don't really want a zf5 for daily driving.

98 is the final year for the E4OD. It's mix of E4 and 4R100. Depending on how you look at it parts are best of both.

Truck or van, they are the same.

Because you're looking into an aftermarket controller, make sure you use the later wire harness.

If you have a pre 92 vehicle. You will need to change the output shaft and manual lever.

Post 92 does not have a speedometer gear, and uses a cable actuated manual lever.

I would go with a four stud converter. It's a drop in for this. No drilling required.

I was thinking the same thing about using a 4 stud converter instead. Probably cheaper than having a shop drill out what you have.
