Guess that means that I can't tow our 12,500GVW fifth wheel with it....

Is 12,500 the weight of the trailer or its Gross Vehicle weight rating? I bet its the latter and the trailer probably weighs 10,000 or so.
Regardless it should tow fine. My family put 40k miles on a van trailer combo that was always 1 to 2 tons over GCWR. We crossed the rockies 4 times that way.

As it sits now, the trailer is around 10,100#

I have weighed in at 18,450 pounds, 3.55s. I had my dads cummins on our 20ft flatbed when his IP went out for the 2nd time. That was a freakin load for my truck.

the only thing in wa state that goes across the scales is tractor trailers. i forget the gvw cut off for scales but its a ways over your normal rv and truck.

How do you get away with that in wa state? rumor is they are running folks across the scales there.Or are you just dodging them.

No not here in Wa. only the big rigs and that is in Oregon all so. For work I drive a F 550 that scales at over 17,000 and I have been all over the west coast with it and never stopped at a scale.
