87 5.0 upper intake manifold removal

Hey guys,

Can anyone tell me WHAT(torx, phillips etc size) the screw is holding down the upper intake manifold on an 1987 f250 5.0, it is quite inaccessible. I mean the one farthest right on the drivers side of the engine

But you will not beable too use a socket style Torx.

What I ended up doing was cutting the socket part away from the 3/8 Torx t45 drive and then using a 7mm (1/4" socket too hold the Torx drive in place.

Don't replace the Torx bolt in the same location, leave it out in the open when you reassemble. It makes it a lot faster next time.

thanks, a little late, but thanks, I ended up actually using a cut off Allen Key then using a socket like you described.
Good Idea on putting the Torx somewhere else, unfortunately I didn't do that.....
