85 6.9 Opinions

I found an 85 E-350 15 pass. w/ 18,000 original miles. 6.9 motor, ex-fire department truck. They want $7900, a little high I think. My concern is all the sitting it's done, too many things to replace from lack of use and if I have to replace head gaskets down the road in a van . Any opinions from the experts?? Thanks

For that money go buy a PSD van.

To me low miles doesn't mean a whole lot on an older vehicle like that unless it is something collectible. With the tremendous leap forward in the 92 redesign, I wouldn't pay more than a couple grand for an OBS diesel van.
