83 MB 300 SD Turbo Diesel Transmission

Does any people know how the shift linkage works on the 83 300 sd? When My car is in park and I give it throttle, It feels like the transmission is holding it back some. The car moves forward slightly. The other gears are not right ether. It can be in neutral and sometimes still be in gear unless I move the shifter a little bit.

how are the plastic bushings linking the the shifter to the trans doing?
take a look there first. It's a $4 part iirc. I soften them up with nuking it in the microwave in a cup of water. they slide in very easy then.

Do you get to them from inside the car by taking apart the center console?
